RINCON, PR – The New York Bucks and Puerto Rico series has been one to remember as both teams keep competing until the end.
It was a back and forth game with some additional close calls added to towards the end has been the talk of the series. For the 4th straight game the Puerto Rico Islanders and the New York Bucks have gone to the last inning either tied or either team having the lead by only 1 run.
In the bottom of the 8th inning Puerto Rico had bases loaded with less than two outs and what it looked to be the opportunity for the Islanders to win but Bucks reliever Kyle Richards struck out Victor Claudio and got catcher Michael Gonzalez to pop up to get out of the Jam.
In the top of the 9th, Bucks outfielder Franklin Jennings singled through the left side of the infield to drive in Dalton Hughes to take a 6-5 lead. But the Bucks would not stop there as Abel Medina would single to the left side to score both Jennings and Collins to take a 8-5 lead and the win for the New York Bucks.
For the Bucks, Kenneth Collins got himself going with two hits joining teammate Simon Palenchar who earlier in the game ripped an RBI double.
Shota Sugawara has stayed hot for the Islanders as he provided 3 of the 5 total hits fro the Islanders including 2 RBI’s a stolen base and a run scored.
The series is even at 2 a piece and will face off once again for the final game to decide the series tomorrow night at 6:15pm in Rincon, PR.
