ISLANDERS WIN SEVENTH GAME OF THE SEASON

RINCON, PR –  The Islanders took game two of the series against the Explorers in what started out as a blowout ended in a tight game.

The Islanders rallied  early to take a 4 to nothing lead in the bottom of the first inning  off Explorers starter Scott Hall.

Islanders outfielder Shota Sugawara continues his display of hitting with another big two hit day.  Angel Perez pick up right where he left off last night with 2 hits of his own.  Marcus Guzman helped the offense with 2 runs batted in.

The Explorers showed signs of life coming back mid way through the game with big clutch hitting and a lot of fight. Terrell Tate led off for the team with 2 hits. Behind him also with two hits were Tyler Post who continues to produce for the team along with Cory Slater and James Dockery.  Parker Franklin has been a great run producer adding another two runs to his total.

Going into the 9th inning with a 9-6 score and the Explorers bringing the tying run to the plate, Axel Cruz closed it out for the Islanders in what was an exciting finish to the game.

Ryo Sanogawa tossed 5.1 innings to earn his second victory  of the season while Axel  Cruz earned the save for the Islanders to improve to  (7-3). Scott Hall takes the loss for the Explorers and the team falls back to (1-10) in the season.

The two teams meet again tomorrow night at 6:15pm in Rincon, Puerto Rico for game 3 of the series.
