PLATTSBURGH, NY – The Puerto Rico Islanders season comes to an end as the Islanders lost to the RedBirds today allowing the Old Orchard Beach Surge to claim the second half.
The Islanders came out in the second half and finished with an impressive 18 victories and tied for first with the Surge. The tie breaker was the overall standings record which favored the 1st place overall Surge.
This concludes the Islanders first season of professional baseball and on behalf of the Islanders, the staff and players would like to thank all of those fans, families and friends who followed the Islanders all season long.
The Islanders will try to play in Puerto Rico next season and will look to bounce back in 2018 in the Empire League.
